Finance and Accounting Manager at American Craft Council | Remote (U.S.)

The American Craft Council is seeking a Part-time Remote Finance and Accounting Manager to oversee financial operations, budgeting, and reporting. This role is based in the U.S. and offers flexibility.

About the Role

The Finance and Accounting Manager serves as the lead internal finance professional, responsible for financial oversight and reporting, budget development, management, and forecasting, and compliance support. This role is crucial for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and usefulness of financial information for decision-making.

• Oversee monthly financial close processes and review financial records for accuracy and completeness.
• Ensure timely preparation of monthly financial statements, narrative notes, and related reports.
• Project and monitor cash flow and track organizational expenses.
• Support the CFO in developing and maintaining annual budgets, rolling forecasts, cash flow projections, and long-term financial plans.
• Prepare and analyze budget-to-actual results, identify significant trends and variances, and work with department leaders to understand financial performance and support corrective action when needed.
• Build collaborative relationships with Business Development, Program, Human Resources, Operations, and other teams to support effective financial management across the organization.
• Serve as a trusted and accessible resource to staff on accounting, time tracking, budgeting, grant management, and financial process questions.
• Translate complex financial information and requirements into clear, practical guidance for non-financial stakeholders.
• The role provides oversight of restricted grant accounting, cost allocations, financial compliance, and the development and maintenance of strong internal controls.
