Job Description

Amazon is looking for a passionate and experienced Software Development Engineer to join our innovative team in India. This is a full-time, remote position where you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining complex software systems that power Amazon’s world-class services.

As a Software Development Engineer, you will work on challenging problems, contributing to the full development lifecycle from requirements gathering to deployment and operational support. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, scalable, and resilient solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and test software solutions, ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following best practices.
  • Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, including debugging production systems.
  • Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, and other engineers to define and implement new features.
  • Contribute to architectural discussions and decisions, driving technical excellence.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve our systems.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in software development.
  • Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Java, C++, Python, or Go.
  • Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design.
  • Experience with distributed systems, microservices, and cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS).
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a remote, collaborative team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Experience with large-scale, high-traffic web applications.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
  • Knowledge of database systems (SQL/NoSQL) and message queuing technologies.
